The Original Scenario
Let us paint a picture for you: you decide it's about time to retire your old phone and upgrade. It's not exactly unusable, nor has it tempted you to discover its more physically destructive capabilities(yet), but all these cool new features have captured your interest and of course more speed is always a plus. You go to your phone vendor of choice, get your new phone, and all is well. Except one problem: you probably weren't looking for a new paperweight, so what do you do with that old phone of yours?
Dante Buchanan, founder and sole operator of Cache Reserves has found himself in that scenario more than once, though strangely enough(and most likely still relatably) rarely is the product in question a phone. From old PC parts to miscellaneous products that have outlived the problem they were solving, the question of what to do is a persistent one; and apparently not uncommon either: In 2022, 62 million tons of e-waste was produced and this annual waste grows by roughly 2.6 million tons per year. Many of the solutions presented to this problem are not without their issues, ranging from elusive and impractical to counterintuitive and ineffective. Many e-waste centers are either located in distant lands, oftentimes imposing arbitrary limits on what they can and can not accept based on financial incentive or charge a fee for their services, leading most to either hoard their old electronics or contribute to the growing amount of e-waste we produce. To present to the people an ideal option for recycling, Cache Reserves was created.
What is Cache Reserves?
Cache Reserves is an electronics-focused eCommerce platform. Currently, we primarily focus on the production and sale of desktop and tower PCs and most heavily prioritize low price points and maximum performance. Our belief is that there is still life in the vast majority of electronics disposed of each year and, with some technical maintenance, they can be used for years longer by different people in different circumstances. In accordance with our beliefs, we scout unwanted or seemingly unusable electronic products from vendors, clients, consumers, and anybody else willing to sell them. These products are then repaired, tested, and appropriate maintenance is applied to ensure functionality and the best possible performance.
What Do We Sell?
We primarily build low-end and mid-range PCs, perfect for entry-level gaming or streaming as well as office workstation purposes and those looking to get into PC maintenance and building. Our procurement procedures also allow us to offer inconceivably low prices for our PCs, perfect for those who are unsure if a larger investment will be as fulfilling as it is costly. Our PCs are rigorously tested following assembly with at least a week of regular anticipated usage(usually streamed on Youtube and Twitch) before being packaged to await their future home. In addition, they are shipped off with a 30-day full money back guarantee.
While our procurement tactics allow us to maintain competitively low pricing, it also results in significant inconsistencies in our stock. In addition, we intend to expand our catalog beyond PCs and into the realm of other electronics, PC decorations, and even clothing in the future. If you would like to stay up-to-date on our available products, please visit regularly and if none of our available products align with your needs, feel free to reach out so we know what to keep an eye out for.
